Herbert Taylor: No.1 in total hours patrolled

For 2008, Herbert Taylor has been recognized as the number one volunteer in terms of hours patrolled. After recently talking with a family member, we have learned that Herbert will be seeing a social worker towards the end of this week to determine what his next step will be after he is released from the JGH. A move to a rehabilitation center is the most likely scenario. At this point, he still suffers from memory loss, but is otherwise improving slowly.

Thanks to the generous donation of $ 220.00 collected during our holiday party, we will see to it that amenities he is missing (such as television hook up) will be provided as long as the funds hold out. At the end of this week, vCOP members will also be delivering the gift basket (including biscuits, tea, and chocolate) awarded to him on Tuesday.

Should you wish to visit or call him, he can be reached at: (514) 340-8222 ext. 2472, or visit him in room 472 on the second floor, just above the Emergency room. We would suggest calling ahead to be sure he has not moved in the interim. He has no dietary restrictions and is an avid reader, so feel free to bring him a meal, treat, or reading material should you so desire. Visitation will ease the many long days he has been hospitalized.

We wish Herbert all the best.
