NOTE: There are specific steps that must be followed in the proper sequence before the pump will turn on and refueling can take place. Missing any step or taking too long between steps will result in not being able to fill up the vehicle.
Enter the Public Works yard during normal business hours:
- Monday - Thursday 6:45 AM - 2:45 PM
- Friday 6:45 AM - 11:45 AM
• Use the GRAY fob (on the keychain) and place it in front of the proximity reader, (on the left side) to open the electric lift arm.
• Proceed to the gas pump.
NOTE: To avoid filling up during non-business hours, if there is another vehicle in our parking spaces that can be used, change vehicles. Make sure you notify Elaine Meunier that you are changing vehicles.
• If you are unable to change vehicles and the chain link fence is locked, then you must call either Phil Mayman or David Goldsmith before 10:00 PM to open the locked fence.
NOTE: Public Security can no longer be called to open the chain link fence.
To refuel the vehicle, follow these steps:
- Lift the fuel nozzle from the gas pump and insert it into the gas filler neck on the vehicle.
- Turn the fuel pump lever (located on the pump) to the ON position.
- Go to the control panel and pass the BLUE FOB in front of the red button.
- When prompted for “pump number” press 3 and then press the OK button.
- When prompted, enter the vehicle kilometre reading from your vehicle and then press the OK button. NOTE: If you are NOT asked for the kilometres, then continue to the next step without entering the kilometre reading.
- Press F3 then enter 123.
- Press OK.
- Squeeze the fuel nozzle until the tank is full and the nozzle clicks off. Due to some programming errors, some fobs will not allow a tank to be fully fueled. You can either start the fueling process over again to fill the tank or go to step 9.
- Turn the fuel pump lever to the OFF position.
When finished refueling, slowly drive up to the gate and it will open automatically.
NOTE: The sliding fence must be left in the same position as it was when you entered the Public Works yards (Opened, Closed or Locked).
NOTE: WHEN THE GAS GAUGE IS BELOW THE 1/2 TANK MARK, AND PUBLIC WORKS IS OPEN, ALWAYS REFUEL THE VEHICLE BEFORE RETURNING TO THE CITY HALL PARKING LOT.
