Just as you would check the operation of your own vehicle, make sure that you take note of any caution or warning lights that appear on the vCOP vehicle's dashboard.
If you see any red or amber lights that remain illuminated on the dashboard, note the occurrence in the log sheet and, more importantly, contact team leader Abe Miller (514-484-2240) and inform him about the problem. While most caution lights usually indicate a minor issue, some warning lights indicate a more serious problem (such as low or no oil pressure.)
In addition, if you had difficulty starting a vehicle, or if you notice a burnt-out headlamp, please contact Abe Miller.
Finally, if the vehicle breaks down or if you experience a flat tire during your patrol, contact dispatch and request a tow truck. (Please notify a supervisor if you are unable to continue your patrol due to a mechanical breakdown.)
