VCOP SHINE AT ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE

Our vCOP organization was well-represented at Montreal's St. Patrick's Day Parade along a very cold but sunny St.Catherine Street this month. Five volunteers - including crowd favourites Bea Levine and Issie Karpman - adorned a shiny 906 with green shamrocks, garlands and window trim for the 90- minute party cruise. Mixing and schmoozing with very receptive parade goers of all ages along the way, Bea and Issie covered most of the route in the minus-10-degree temperature. Helen Gwiazda and new recruit Felice Stober happily smiled and waved from our van's warmer confines. "We had a terrific time," said Bea of her fourth St. Patrick's parade as a vCOP. "The people were really friendly." First-timer Issie agreed, "What fun! I had a truly marvelous day, and I can't wait for next March 17th." An always popular ambulance from the city's Emergency Medical Services followed 906 with Peter Sauvé at the wheel of our vCOP vehicle. The fabulous five later convened a fun-filled two hour "debriefing session" at a local coffee shop before heading home.
Thank you to Bea Levine for providing the photos, and thanks to Peter Sauvé for providing the very entertaining text.
