V-E DAY- VCOPS NEEDED TO ASSIST IN COMMEMORATION CEREMONY

The annual commemoration of V-E Day will take place on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 2 PM in Veterans Park, which is located next to the City Hall and library.   Members of the Brigadier Frederick Kisch Branch 97 of the Royal Canadian Legion, Mayor Anthony Housefather, the Cote Saint-Luc city council, dignitaries, veterans and residents will all be present. 

This ceremony recognizes the victory of the Allied Forces over Nazi Germany.  V-E Day was May 8, 1945, the date when the Allies accepted the surrender of the armed forces of Germany.  This year's commemoration will be conducted by Brigadier Frederick Kisch Branch 97 President, Frank Levine. 

VCops are always a very important part of these ceremonies.  We are being asked to participate by standing alongside the veterans and their families, and reflect about this very important time in history.  The ceremony is from 13:00-16:00.  Please email vcop scheduling, or Susie Schwartz at complexqueen@aol.com, and reply that you would like to participate. You will be credited for your hours, and more importantly, your presence will be valued and appreciated by veterans and your community alike.
