FOR YOUR SAFETY
The permanent awning to cover the exposed staircase leading to the vCOP office has already been ordered, and as of this time it is scheduled for installation on or about January 26th. This awning will hopefully keep the staircase free of snow and ice to ensure our safety in inclement weather. Until the installation is complete, please exercise extreme caution when using the stairs, should you get there before Public Works has a chance to clean and salt them. We must keep in mind that considering the vast number of streets, sidewalks, and public areas maintained by PWs, they cannot be everywhere at once. Always hold on to the handrail and take your time descending / ascending the steep stair case regardless of the weather.
VEHICLE UPDATES
Due to administrative reasons the 902 vehicle designation cannot be reused for the vehicle soon to replace it. 903 is in fact ready for us and fully equipped, and only awaiting re-striping before being put on the road to bring us back to two full time dedicated vCOP vehicles. Expected completion is estimated at two weeks. Although the new vehicle will be numbered 903, our on line calendar will continue use the blue 902 colour for entries. Please remember to sign in as 903 whenever you use this particular vehicle. (Hint - Although the two vehicles are of similar make and model, just remember 901 is silver, and 903 is white).
Talks are ongoing at this time to secure a third vehicle ASAP, tentatively to be known as 904.
Thanks for your understanding during this transitional period.
