anywhere in the city during a patrol please DO NOT log it, call it in, nor attempt to move it. They have been put there intentionally by city employees for a reason. When the compost collection truck comes by and notices that a bin has been filled with garbage or other non compostable items, the operator of the truck intentionally places it on the street. This is a signal to a follow up crew who can then locate it easily, fill out an infraction (warning ticket), and then places the bin back on the resident's property. Should you disturb it's location the problem will not be corrected.By the same token if you come across a bin overflowing with garbage you need not take any action. The city employees will not empty the bin. The above process will be followed instead as stated.
Please check the on line calendar today. There are many special events taking place until the end of the month which require volunteers to sign up. As well we need crews most mornings until December 5th. due to road reconfiguration at Fleet and Cavendish. Traffic congestion and pedestrian crosswalk safety issues mean we need help between 7:15 & 9:30 weekdays. Have a look at all events listed in red, and contact vcopscheduling@gmail.com to offer your time wherever possible.
